2025 Review: A Good Year, Just a Little Bumpy

Looking back at 2025, I’d describe it as good—but not without its bumps. The environment kept changing, plans needed adjusting, and not everything went smoothly. Still, I didn’t let myself freeze or overthink. I stayed calm, flexible, and followed through with what mattered most.

And that made all the difference.

🌸 2025 in a Nutshell

  • 🛒 Etsy updates – Trees: Sizes now range from 6 cm pendants to 35 cm wall hangings

  • 🌺 New projects: Experiments with polyester floss & metallic threads

  • 🎥 YouTube Membership: New videos and membership levels (“First Knot” & “Golden Thread”)

  • 🎪 Craft fairs: Participated in four local events, gathering direct feedback

  • 🌐 Local website: Relaunched in the local language and strengthened ties with Sashe.sk

  • ✍️ Blog updates: Published a dozen or so new posts

  • 💌 Newsletter: Monthly updates for a calmer, more personal connection

🌳 Trees – everything in one place, for everyone

I made a point of answering every single question and suggestion on Etsy—and I learned a lot from those conversations. One thing became very clear: everyone imagines size differently, and that’s absolutely fine.

Thanks to your questions and requests, I expanded the offer significantly. There is now a full range of sizes available, from 6 cm pendants to 35 cm wall pieces, so everyone can choose what fits their vision best.

Materials were another topic that came up again and again:

  • availability in different regions

  • choosing suitable alternatives

  • adjusting designs to materials you already have

To make this easier, I prepared clear material lists with regional buying options. And when something still doesn’t quite match—like using a smaller ring or a thicker cord—we work it out together through Etsy messages. I genuinely enjoy these one-on-one solutions; they remind me of my teaching days and the personal connection that makes creating together so rewarding.

🧪 New Projects & Creative Experiments

2025 was also a year of experimenting.

Some of these projects are documented step by step in the YouTube Membership area, where I can share ideas more freely and in greater detail.

❤️ Membership: The Heart of My YouTube Channel

This year, almost all new video content was created inside the members section.

We also introduced membership levels:

  • First Knot – a solid foundation

  • Golden Thread – more technical work and behind-the-scenes content, especially around preparing for local fairs

We’re closing the year with over 100 active members, and that truly means a lot to me. Thank you for being there, supporting, asking questions, and creating alongside me.

🎪 Local Craft Fairs: A Reality Check I Needed

2025 became a small personal record—I participated in four local craft fairs.

Craft fairs are a reality check in the best possible way:

  • direct, honest feedback

  • real conversations

  • immediate reactions

  • contact with fellow makers

This presence paid off. Even during a quieter Christmas fair, I felt supported—many of you came back again. Over 100 micro projects found new homes this year, and I’m incredibly grateful for that.

🏡 Strengthening the Local Community

Repeated questions about where to buy my work locally made one thing clear: it was time.

I renewed my local domain and brought back a local-language website. It’s still a work in progress (and yes—WordPress tests my patience), but the first step is done.

I also deeply value my collaboration with the handmade platform Sashe.sk, which is currently the only place where my work is available locally online.

🌍 Growing a Global Creative Space

This website, along with YouTube and Etsy, has become a way for me to stay connected with makers from all over the world—and that still feels a little magical.

Over time, my blog has naturally grown into something like a shared notebook: practical, open, and easy to return to whenever you need it. Reading and reviewing historical books about knotting techniques changed the way I look at this craft and reminded me that it proudly stands next to any other textile tradition.

This year, I also introduced a monthly newsletter—a calmer, more personal way to stay in touch, share thoughts, and keep the conversation going beyond posts and videos.

💛 Seeing Your Work: A Huge Thank You!

One of the most rewarding moments this year was seeing what you created.

Thank you for every photo, message, review, and story you shared—whether it appeared in our Facebook group, in Etsy reviews, or as Instagram highlights. Each one brought a smile and a sense of connection.

I remember many names and projects, and if I’ve missed anyone, please know it wasn’t intentional—every piece truly mattered. Your creativity, ideas, and personal touches continue to inspire me more than you might realize.

And a special thank you as well for the kind gestures, encouragement, and shared knowledge along the way. That generosity is what makes this community so special.

🔮 Looking Ahead: Plans for 2026

No big leaps—just thoughtful progress.

For 2026, my focus is to:

  • refine what already works

  • continue promoting this technique

  • stay surrounded by positive, curious, like-minded people

  • balance attention between local roots and a global audience

Slow growth. Meaningful connections. And plenty of knots ahead.

To all my craft fellows and creative friends—thank you for walking this path with me. Let’s keep creating, learning, and enjoying the process together.
